Hi there — I’m Katelyn Sabater, an Emmy-nominated Latina producer from Miami, FL, now based in New York City. My creativity and love for connecting with people first led me into storytelling at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, and today I bring that same passion to my work at ESPN, where I produce national commercials and branded content.
At ESPN, I get to merge sports, culture, and creativity — producing campaigns that showcase some of the world’s biggest athletes and brands in ways that resonate with fans everywhere. I thrive at the intersection of strategy and storytelling, collaborating across the network to bring bold ideas to life on screen. Some of my favorite projects have included working with Caitlin Clark and John Cena and brands like TJ Maxx and Taco Bell.
Previously, I worked at MTV News, producing for their award-winning digital series Need To Know and IMPACT. There, I pitched, shot, and edited stories at the intersection of pop culture and social issues, covering everything from climate activism and mental health to Gen Z’s role in politics.
My career began in local news at CBS Miami and Georgia’s 13WMAZ, where I learned adaptability, speed, and precision while covering everything from breaking news to longform features during the pandemic. Along the way, I also freelanced as an Associate Producer on reality shows (MTV, HBO Max), documentaries, and commercial spots.
When I’m not producing, you’ll probably find me on the kickball field, binge-watching Bravo, or hanging out with my 86-pound Chocolate Lab, Bluey.
